Day 3 - May 5, 2014 - Punta Vicente Roca

This had just been the beginning, as our professional Zodiac driver then took us to a little bay where sea turtles were waiting for us. Just for fun we took our shoes off and put our feet into the water to have an idea of the temperature of the water. I was listening to all the different opinions about the temperature when I heard one of the guests noting that a turtle had touched his toe

Day 4 - May 6, 2014 - Caleta Tagus, Isabela

Wolf Volcano, the highest of the Galapagos group, rose majestically in front of us. I pointed out the extensive lava flows that bring together all of the volcanoes of Isabela, in this case particularly the northern ones: Ecuador, Wolf, and Darwin. Barren lava flows on one of the youngest islands which will, in due time, turn into the Palo Santo forest through which we hiked. Galapagos Mockingbirds, Darwin’s Finches, and Galapagos Flycatchers escorted us on our way back.

Day 5 - May 7, 2014 - Bahia Post office, Floreana

Later, at Champion Islet, the snorkeling experience was great! The sea lions were following us for at least 30 minutes and we played with them, a shark showed up, hundreds of fish were in the area and all of us were excited to see it. It was a fantastic snorkeling experience, one of the highlights of the trip.

Day 6 - May 8, 2014 -

After I had walked and had a swim I went to take a kayak session, and it was an amazing experience along the shoreline. There were so many spectacular and dramatic volcanic formations and birds. Apart from pelicans, Brown Noddies, and Blue-footed Boobies I spotted a few marine turtles as well.

Day 7 - May 9, 2014 - Charles Darwin Giant Tortoise Breeding Center

It is a beautiful sunny early morning as I head out to Puerto Ayora in the Zodiac. Seabirds dot the sky and small cumulus clouds drift lazily over the small fishing boats and luxury yachts bobbing up and down in the harbour.
