We were treated to the magnificent sight of half-a-dozen large icebergs close into shore, grounded here by wind and tide...

Day 4 - August 24, 2009 - Qilakitsoq & Uummannaq, Greenland

Most of us hiked above and behind the town to the foot of the Uummannaq mountain...

We were suddenly holding our breath as the calf surfaced some 20 meters in front of us and fluked (raised its tail out of the water)...
