Day 1 - June 25, 2012 - Longyearbyen, Spitsbergen, Svalbard 

After their charter flight earlier in the day, and after passport and security photographs were completed, guests could enjoy a fine lunch in The Restaurant.

Day 2 - June 26, 2012 - Luciano “Luqui” Bernacchi, Birder, Glacier Guide 

The Polar bear walked on a rocky shore, sat down, looked and sniffed at us, rested, and I felt privileged to witness another hour and half of natural behaviour of this formidable animal.

Day 3 - June 27, 2012 - Juan Carlos Restrepo, Geologist 

It was an incredible experience and many were speechless as they just stood in silence absorbing this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.

Day 4 - June 28, 2012 - Robin Aiello, Marine Biologist 

It was beautiful – large sea ice floes laid spread out in front of us as far as our eyes could see – far into the horizon.

Day 5 - June 29, 2012 - Peter W. Damisch, Historian, General Naturalist, Polar Bear Guard 

It is simply magnificent to see such a large collection of walrus, each steaming in the cold air, tusks moving back and forth or simply asleep on the sand.

Day 6 - June 30, 2012 - Palanderbukta, Svalbard 

The scenery was truly magical with the numerous waterfalls that cascade down the face of ice, as during this time of the year many rivers flow on the surface of the glacier as it melts, forming a beautiful picture with the sun glowing through the falling water.

Day 7 - July 1, 2012 - Storoya Island, Svalbard 

It was remarkable and everybody had a good look at this spectacular beast looking like the queen of the Arctic standing on her throne, from quite close.

Day 8 - July 2, 2012 - East of Edgeoya, Svalbard – Day at sea - En route to Bear Island 

Soon after the talk the hotel department and the Executive Chef organised a cooking demonstration.

Day 9 - July 3, 2012 - Bear Island, Norway 

The first thing that captures your eye when you come around the corner is the tall, 200m sea cliffs and rock pinnacles.
