Day 3 - June 1, 2012 - Dublin, Ireland
The full day tour south of Dublin was very enjoyable, touring the magnificent gardens of Powerscourt designed in 1740. (read more)

Day 4 - June 2, 2012 - Isle of Gigha, Hebrides, Scotland
With heather-clad hills, deserted beaches and a single lane that meanders for some six miles between cottages and farms, Gigha is truly a place apart. (read more)

Day 5 - June 3, 2012 - Iona and Lunga, Scottish Isles
Even Chris had never seen anything like it. This was up-close-and-personal with puffins in a truly remarkable way. (read more)

Day 6 - June 4, 2012 - St. Kilda, Scotland
The Captain manoeuvred the Silver Explorer pretty close around the island and the views of the steep cliffs were spectacular in the morning sunlight. (read more)

Day 7 - June 5, 2012 - Stromness, Orkney Islands
The first stop was at the Ring of Brodgar, a huge ceremonial circle of stones dating from about 2700 BC. (read more)

Day 8 - June 6, 2012 - Fair Isle, Mousa and Lerwick, Shetland, Scotland
Lerwick is a charming Shetland town, full of paved and cobbled streets and narrow lanes. (read more)

On the way there it was impossible not to stop a few minutes and take photos of four beautiful Shetland Ponies with four very cute little foals. (read more)

It was a small but colorful town with many turf or grass-roofed old houses that were quite charming to see. (read more)

Day 11 - June 9, 2012 - Mykines, Faroe Islands
From the ship we set off north along the cliff base enjoying the nesting Kittiwakes and Guillemots, their nets perched so precariously on the tiniest rock ledges rising high above us on the towering basalt cliffs. (read more)
