Day 1 - May 30, 2012 - Greenock, Scotland 

It is always very exciting to sail away; to me it translates into a sense of freedom and tingly anticipation about the adventures to come.

Day 2 - May 31, 2012 - Douglas, Isle of Man 

The Isle of Man was today our first stop of our voyage, and the town of Douglas appeared through the mist and rain clouds just before breakfast.

Day 3 - June 1, 2012 - Dublin, Ireland 

The full day tour south of Dublin was very enjoyable, touring the magnificent gardens of Powerscourt designed in 1740.

Day 4 - June 2, 2012 - Isle of Gigha, Hebrides, Scotland 

With heather-clad hills, deserted beaches and a single lane that meanders for some six miles between cottages and farms, Gigha is truly a place apart.

Day 5 - June 3, 2012 - Iona and Lunga, Scottish Isles 

Even Chris had never seen anything like it. This was up-close-and-personal with puffins in a truly remarkable way.

Day 6 - June 4, 2012 - St. Kilda, Scotland 

The Captain manoeuvred the Silver Explorer pretty close around the island and the views of the steep cliffs were spectacular in the morning sunlight.

Day 7 - June 5, 2012 - Stromness, Orkney Islands 

The first stop was at the Ring of Brodgar, a huge ceremonial circle of stones dating from about 2700 BC.

Day 8 - June 6, 2012 - Fair Isle, Mousa and Lerwick, Shetland, Scotland 

Lerwick is a charming Shetland town, full of paved and cobbled streets and narrow lanes.

Day 9 - June 7, 2012 - Lerwick, Shetland, Scotland 

On the way there it was impossible not to stop a few minutes and take photos of four beautiful Shetland Ponies with four very cute little foals.

Day 10 - June 8, 2012 - Torshavn, Faroe Islands 

It was a small but colorful town with many turf or grass-roofed old houses that were quite charming to see.

Day 11 - June 9, 2012 - Mykines, Faroe Islands 

From the ship we set off north along the cliff base enjoying the nesting Kittiwakes and Guillemots, their nets perched so precariously on the tiniest rock ledges rising high above us on the towering basalt cliffs.

Day 12 - June 10, 2012 - At sea, en route to Hofn, Iceland 

Executive Chef Christian and his team, together with Restaurant Manager Laszlo and his waiting team, took us for a culinary journey around the world.

Day 13 - June 11, 2012 - Höfn, Iceland, Scotland 

It is one of the largest icecaps in the world with over 8000 square kilometers in area, and at some point over 1000 metres of ice thickness, and is covers 7 volcanoes.

Day 14 - June 12, 2012 - Heimaey, Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland 

Even though I had been various times before to this Island, I had never taken so many photos of it as today. “Brochure weather” as we sometimes call it …
