The Silver Explorer has repositioned from the Caribbean and today is docked in Santa Cruz. Bunkering and provision loading was still going on, but the suites were ready and so we could start embarkation punctually at 12 am. Guests arrived throughout the afternoon and at 4 pm boarding was finished for our expedition voyage from Tenerife to Lisbon.
Shortly afterwards, Expedition Leader Conrad Combrink announced through the PA system the obligatory Emergency Drill for the guests.
Embarkation day finished as usual with the introduction of some Heads of Department and the Expedition Team, followed by an excellent dinner in The Restaurant.
After dinner was finished, the Silver Explorer set sail for our first destination on this voyage: San Sebastian on La Gomera Island – a short trip as there is only 25km between the nearest two points of the islands.
