Air Temperature: 28°C
Punctually at 12 o’clock embarkation started in the port of Colon Panama. Our guests arrived throughout the afternoon, and at 16.00 boarding of all our guests for our voyage entitled “Between the Oceans” from Colon to Puerto Calderas in Costa Rica was finished.
During embarkation my duty was in the terminal to help the guests through the immigration procedure including the check of the luggage by dogs. But all in all, despite the complicated formalities, embarkation went smoothly without any major problem.
At 17.00 the Silver Explorer left the pier at Colon and repositioned to her anchor position in the Bay of Limon, to wait for the passage through the canal tomorrow morning. The sundeck aft was crowded as nearly all guests joined us outside for a Sail Away cocktail.
Shortly after Sail Away, our Expedition Leader Shoshanah Jacobs announced through the PA system that 18.00 the first duty and only duty for our guests will take place in The Theatre – the obligatory Emergency Drill.
Embarkation day finished as always with the introduction of some heads of department and the Expedition Team, and then with the excellent dinner in the restaurant.
