Day 2 - January 16, 2011 - Drake Passage
At 7 pm Captain Alexander Golubev offered a Welcome Cocktail Party where he introduced his senior officers, followed by a wonderful gala dinner. (read more)

Day 3 - January 17, 2011 - Drake Passage and Barrientos Island
Due to relatively benign conditions in the Drake Passage, Captain Alexander Golubev and his team made good speed and we arrived at the Peninsula earlier than scheduled. (read more)

Day 4 - January 18, 2011 - Brown Bluff, Antarctic Peninsula; Antarctic Sound
The penguins were mostly covered by a thin layer of snow, but did not seem to be too uncomfortable. (read more)

Day 5 - January 19, 2011 - Cuverville, Port Lockroy & Jougla Point
As soon as all guests and Zodiacs were back on board, the Captain took us through the Errera Channel, into Andvord Bay and across the Gerlache Strait, absolutely stunning! (read more)

Day 6 - January 20, 2011 - Petermann Island, Penola Strait
Gentoo penguins porpoised by from all angles and crabeater seals basked in the strong morning sun on water-scalloped floes. (read more)

Day 7 - January 21, 2011 - Neko Harbour
We had a very curious Minke whale who decided to ‘play’ around the boats for most of the time. At one point this beautiful sleek animal actually raised its head right out of the water – nearly touching the guests on one of the Zodiacs. (read more)

Day 8 - January 22, 2011 - Drake Passage
The winds blew and the seas danced but our ship is doing a fine job of moving through this storm and our Captain is directing her into the safest and most comfortable course available. (read more)

Day 9 - January 23, 2011 - Drake Passage en route to Ushuaia
All smiles and positive attitude as we, Expedition Team and guests, engaged in conversation before Captain Oleksander Golubyev introduced his crew and ceremonially wished goodbye to all. (read more)
