Our home for the next 15 days, the Silver Discoverer was tied alongside the wharf in the Port of Benoa in Bali, Indonesia. It was here that we embarked and made our way down to check-in, to eat some lunch and to settle into our cabins. After everyone was on board a mandatory safety briefing was given by Mick our Expedition Leader. Everyone learnt the safety requirements of the Silver Discoverer and we made our way to our muster stations on Deck 7 to complete the briefing.

Shortly after the briefing the lines were dropped and Captain Luksa headed the Silver Discoverer towards our first destination, Komodo Island.

One more briefing on safe Zodiac use was undertaken and then we were given an over view of our activities on Komodo Island for the following day.

Pia, our executive chef, and her wonderful team presented us with our first dinner on board and then it was time to head to our cabins to get our first night’s sleep before our exciting day on Komodo Island.
