Embarkation started at 15:00 as we welcomed the first guests up the gangway and into the Panorama Lounge for a refreshing drink and canapés. Accompanying the relaxing environment were the smooth sounds of the resident pianist, Lou.

Guests were shown to their suites, which were to be home for the next 12 days. The afternoon was filled with many briefings as the Expedition Leader Conrad welcomed the newly embarked guests onboard and informed them of life onboard the Prince Albert II. He also introduced the Expedition Team who were from all walks of life, but seemed to share one common passion and that was travelling to remote parts of the world.

Later that evening, all guests were required to attend the mandatory Zodiac Briefing and Emergency Safety Briefing. Armed with all the information regarding the ship, Zodiacs and the destination, the guests were given time to freshen up and to make their way down to The Restaurant for dinner.

The Prince Albert II set sail at 20:00 towards the first destination, Alderney.
