Unfortunately the charter flight with our guests was late and so embarkation didn’t start until 16.00. All embarkation went smoothly, and at 16.45 boarding was finished and we could begin our journey from Ushuaia northward through the Chilean Fjords.

Shortly afterwards, Captain Adam Bozecek announced over the PA system the obligatory Emergency Drill for all guests at 17.30, followed shortly afterwards by the introduction of some heads of department and the Expedition Team. Additionally, the mandatory Zodiac and destination briefing was given by our Expedition Leader, Conrad Combrink, as tomorrow morning our first destination would be the Garibaldi Glacier, where a Zodiac tour is planned.

Around midnight after bunkering and provision loading was finished, the Silver Explorer set course and our adventure was about to begin.
