Anke was born, raised, and educated in Germany. After studying the German language, literature, geography, and sport sciences, Anke worked at a grammar school in Germany, specializing in outdoor adventure activities.
For many years her love for pristine nature has spurred her curiosity to embark on journeys to Scandinavia, Canada, New Zealand and other countries. While travelling all over the world she discovered her passion for the polar regions. Anke has had many seasons in such remote places as Svalbard, Greenland, Iceland and Antarctica. First she worked as a photographer and later as a general naturalist in the field of nature and history on board several cruise ships.
Anke is a native German speaker and is also fluent in Swedish and English. She is very keen to share her passion and knowledge with guests onboard.
