Craig Ward, Marine Biologist & Dive Instructor

In his first five years in Australia, Craig worked as a dive instructor and marine biologist on the Great Barrier Reef, on vessels as varied as luxury yachts to scientific research ships. He has been continuously involved in leading expeditions to the Kimberley, through Papua New Guinea, and New Zealand. He has also navigated expedition vessels around the Great Barrier Reef, and to Cape York and beyond.
After receiving a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from JCU Cairns, he chose to specialize in expedition tourism. To this day, he maintains an association with the university, and is regularly involved in ongoing research.

His past work includes involvement in jellyfish research, as well as the endemic wildlife of Australia, including; Cassowaries, Crocodiles and venomous snakes. He also wrote interpretative material on Wetlands and reptile ecology, and ran Crocodile monitoring programs in the Daintree.
