David Jimenez, Video Photographer
David Jiménez is an Ecuadorian native who has worked filming wildlife and community based projects since 1998. His field work is vast in all the natural corners of Ecuador. He has filmed in the Ecuadorian rainforest, the Andes, the Pacific Coast and the Galapagos Islands.
David has been closed to the Galapagos Islands since 2001. He was the Charles Darwin Foundation’s filmmaker and photographer from 2001 until 2005, while based in the Santa Cruz Island. His task was to document the scientific research carried in the fields of natural history, geography, and wildlife. David also contributed with the BBC Natural History Unit in the production of their TV series “Galapagos” in 2005-2006. From his work in the Galapagos Islands, David has considerable knowledge of the Islands and their surrounding deep undersea.
David has a Bachelor’s degree in Social Communications from Universidad Politécnica Salesiana, Ecuador, a Graduate Certificate in Nonlinear digital editing studies in Liège, Belgium, a Graduate Certificate in Community Development from Universidad Nacional de Tucumán, Argentina, and a Graduate Diploma in Documentary Film Production from Universidad del Valle, Colombia.
