Description:
Design and develop shore excursions for sale online and onboard in keeping with budget targets. Collect and prepare tour materials for the publication of tour books and online website tour information. Develop standard and customized programs for Charter and Incentive Clients. Respond to requests for Concierge Services by designing programs and securing purchase agreement from Travel Agents and Guests.

Job Title: Coordinator, Tour Planner Concierge
Department: Shore Excursion
Reports to: Manager, Land Programs

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Contact worldwide tour operators to obtain tour programs and pricing
  • Prepare pricing comparison bids for Manager/Director approval
  • Provide prompt and courteous attention to guests and clients requests
  • Be personable and pleasant over the phone
  • Set up and review with Shore Concierge Managers, preliminary tour plan for each voyage based on itineraries and new and previously offered tours
  • Follow up with ground operator on data/information
  • After compiling all necessary information, adjust current tour copy or send to copy writer for new tour text. May compose original tour descriptions.
  • Compile pricing grids including competitive analysis for each voyage for review by management pricing team
  • Respond to faxes, emails or other correspondence fulfilling tasks as requested by Director and Manager
  • Research and update information for use in Silver Shore Journals, Silversea Travel Journal and My Silversea
  • Review Shore Concierge Manager’s Voyage Reports and make necessary corrections, changes and updates for future planning, ensuring greatest possible accuracy of tour content and maximize revenue
  • Promote and sell concierge services; design programs; collect payments. Discuss current and proposed tour programs with guests requesting concierge programs. Customize to guest’s needs and develop and document new programs as required. Communicate all tour data and concierge arrangements, including guest documentation and pricing to the onboard teams. Constant liaison with guest as required.
  • Be available for travel and site inspections.
  • Update web content for shore excursions and overland programs
  • Answer inbound Concierge line
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor

Education/Experience:

Education:  Minimum of an Associate’s degree required.

Years of experience:

  • Minimum of two years travel industry experience required.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; sales skills
  • Must possess excellent organizational skills and be able to work under pressure
  • Possess a positive, team leader attitude
  • Good knowledge of geography

Computer Skills: 

  • Excellent skills with Word & Excel; ability to prepare spreadsheets, develop and maintain databases
  • Update MXP (Database)
  • Develop PowerPoint presentations and deliver regional destination training

Description: Promote and sell the Silversea brand by visiting travel agents, establishing and maintaining business relationships, and conducting product presentations in the New York/ New Jersey Area.

Job Title: Area Sales Director  – Northeastern Region
Reports to: Regional Sales Director

Performance Responsibilities:

  • Achieve and exceed revenue sales goals.
  • Expand Silversea product and brand awareness to the travel agent community
  • Make public presentations at trade shows, cruise events, seminars, ship functions, and other events.
  • Conduct regular in person sales calls.
  • Initiate and maintain relationships with all accounts in the assigned region including travel agents and direct consumers with a focus on key accounts and secondary accounts.
  • Inform Silversea management of marketplace conditions and competitive environment.
  • Assist travel agencies with marketing opportunities, i.e. direct mail and electronic media.
  • Account for all travel and entertainment expenses, following Silversea’s Travel & Entertainment Policy.
  • Maintain control of a co-op budget to include advising the head office of future commitments as well as submitting co-op agreements for payment in a timely manner.
  • Increase affinity and promotional group bookings.
  • Increase FIT bookings.
  • Other business-related duties as instructed by the VP of Field Sales.

Education/Experience:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent industry experience.

Years of experience:

  • 5 years minimum in cruise or travel related industry discipline / 7 years non travel in sales/marketing related discipline preferred.

Essential qualifications and skills:

  • Excellent verbal communication skills.
  • Good interpersonal skills and ability to tactfully deal with internal and external contacts.
  • Well organized and detail oriented.
  • Able to work under minimal supervision.
  • Possess a positive, team-player attitude.
